Military Spouse Magazine created the Military Spouse of the Year®, or MSOY, award in 2008 to honor military spouses from all branches of service. The MSOY award recognizes the service of the more than 1 million military spouses who support and maintain the homefront and promotes their contributions to a wider community.
The MSOY award solicits nominations from the military community, as well as all Americans, in the late fall each year. Three distinct phases of voting follow, with the announcement of the MSOY in early May at an event attracting congressional members, senior military and Department of Defense leadership.
The MSOY award provides selected military spouses a platform to network with other spouses and members of the military community to share their stories and successes.
Military Spouse Magazine has provided education resources since its founding. The magazine works with schools and administrators to provide information to military spouses about financial resources, spouse-friendly schools and majors, and higher education institutions with programs specifically developed for military spouses.
The MSOY award and Military Spouse Magazine are owned by MSEP partner VIQTORY. VIQTORY is a member of the Spouse Ambassador Network, a group of organizations united to help military spouses achieve their education and career goals.
