McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity is a comprehensive education strategy with multiple programs that give people an opportunity to grow and learn — no matter where they are on their journey. Programs are available to McDonald’s employees and the employees of participating independent franchises.

The Archways to Opportunity tuition assistance program covers eligible course expenses not covered by scholarships or grants, such as tuition and course technology fees.

  • Recipients can use McDonald’s tuition assistance if they use other forms of financial aid that must be repaid for these eligible course expenses.
  • Recipients cannot use McDonald’s tuition assistance if they receive other forms of financial aid that do not need to be repaid, such as scholarships or grants, for these eligible course expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

If the applicant is a full-time restaurant manager or staff of a participating franchise owner/operator, he or she is eligible for $1,050 in tuition assistance each year if the following requirements are met:

  1. Working a minimum of 30 hours per week for that franchise owner/operator
  2. Are in good standing as determined by the franchise owner/operator

If the applicant is part of the restaurant crew (including maintenance), part-time manager or part-time office staff of a participating franchise owner/operator, he or she is eligible for $700 in tuition assistance if the following requirements are met:

  1. Employed by the same franchise owner/operator at least nine cumulative months as of the time of tuition assistance request application completion
  2. Work an average of 20 hours per week for that franchise owner/operator
  3. Are in good standing as determined by the franchise owner/operator
